  • Are you licensed, bonded and insured?"
Yes, yes and yes! We're fully bonded and insured through Pet Sitters International (PSI), the leading name in pet related insurance.
  • Will my dog be walked with other dogs?
Not unless you own more than one dog! We want to give each pup the love and attention they deserve, therefore we only provide private, one-on-one dog walks.
  • Do you require a minimum number of visits per week?
Nope. Unless of course your pet is really really cute, in that case we may consider imposing a daily visit requirement!
  • Will I have multiple dog walkers?
Yes. Since we focus on scheduling flexibility with no minimum number of walks per week we are not able to provide the same walker or sitter at each of your visits. We try our hardest to keep the number of walkers your pet will meet to a minimum though!
  • When will my dog walker arrive?
While we can’t guarantee that we will arrive at your home at the scheduled time, we’ll get as close as we can. Our goal is to arrive within the two hour window around your scheduled time, up to an hour before the scheduled time or up to an hour after. This means that if you have a visit scheduled for 1PM, your walker should arrive between 12PM and 2PM. If you have a puppy, a dog with special needs, or have scheduled multiple visits per day we will narrow the time frame as much as possible!
  • Do weekend visits cost extra?
We are available on weekends per special request for a $20 fee.
  • How far in advance do I need to schedule?
Monday through Friday you can schedule visits at any time, including the day of the visit and we'll do everything we can to accomodate it. There is a $15 Same Day Booking Fee added to visits that are scheduled after 7AM the day of a visit.
  • Can you walk my dog over the holidays?
A Holiday Fee is applied to all visits that fall on select national holidays.
  • Can you administer medication?
Yes! We would be happy to administer any oral medication during the visit. Unfortunately we cannot give any injections or handle needles.
  • What's the easiest way to schedule my dog's walk?
We have an app available called Pet Check: For Pet Owners. It’s free to download and makes scheduling a breeze! It allows you to receive notifications when your walker arrives and departs, and you can check out your pup’s walk report and pictures right in the app.
  • How do I cancel a visit?
You can cancel and edit visits through Pet Check until 7am the day of the walk. If you need to change or cancel a visit after 7am that is scheduled for the same day please call or email the office. We’re happy to adjust or cancel any appointments for you! There are no fees added for canceling visits and as long as the walker has not already arrived at your home you will not be charged for the walk.
  • Why does Smart Paws need two sets of keys?
We ask for two sets of keys in case of emergencies, and to ensure that we hit our two hour arrival window for your visits. If your walker is running late we can send another walker directly to your visit with the second set of keys and your pup will get their walk on time. You can also choose to set up a lockbox outside of your home instead.
  • Can you feed my pet?
We’ll feed your pet at no extra cost! Just click “Please feed my pet!” under the Add Ons section when scheduling a visit to let your walker know.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
Major credit cards including MasterCard, Visa and Discover. We do not accept cash, checks or American Express.
